Bahamas and the Ministry of Education.<br \/>\nThe competition encouraged interested students to submit a 300-word essay on the topic to increase local junior and high school students\u2019 social awareness of this neurobiological disorder during April, internationally recognized as Autism awareness month.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are overwhelmed with the number of entries received from students throughout The Bahamas,\u201d stated Mario Carey, President of R.E.A.C.H. Bahamas. \u201cReaching students who are eager to learn about this prevalent disorder significantly bolsters our efforts to increase autism awareness locally.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>More than three dozen junior and high school students from around the Bahamas submitted essays on the topic including students from Nassau, Grand Bahama, Exuma and Acklins. A panel of judges will select three winners in early May.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAML Foods through our brands, Cost Right, Solomon\u2019s, Solomon\u2019s Fresh Market and Domino\u2019s Pizza is proud to support R.E.A.C.H. Bahamas in their fight to promote Autism Awareness. \u00a0It is important for everyone to learn more about this disorder that affects so many Bahamian families,\u201d stated Renea Knowles, VP of Marketing and Communications, AML Foods Ltd.<\/p>\n<p>FirstCare Medical Plan, as the sponsor of the competition has pledged to provide the grand prize winner with $300 and the first and second runner-up with $200 each. AML Foods will provide a gift card valued at $250 for the grand prize winner, $150 for the first runner up and $100 for the second runner up redeemable at Solomon\u2019s, Solomon\u2019s Fresh Market or Cost Right.
