The Ministry of Tourism recently acknowledged the 60th visit to The Bahamas made by Gary Williams, whose love for the country has spanned more than four decades.<\/p>\n

Mr. Williams and his wife, Sandra, first came to The Bahamas in 1967 on their honeymoon. Since then, he has frequently visited, forging friendships and working relationships with many Bahamians.<\/p>\n

As president of Timber Systems Limited of Canada, one of the leading exporters of structural timber projects to The Bahamas for the past three decades, Mr. Williams has been instrumental in the development of significant timber projects throughout the country, in partnership with many of the Bahamas\u2019 best known architects, engineers, and contractors.<\/p>\n

Apart from the work, Mr. Williams said, he continues to come to The Bahamas frequently because of the Bahamian people.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is just the engagement with the community that has accepted us,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The Williams family, who all visited Nassau\/Paradise Island on the occasion, which also celebrated Mr. Williams\u2019 70th birthday, often enjoyed the company of Ken and Cheryl Lam in Nassau.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom my point of view, I like the way you are because that\u2019s important,\u201d Mr. Williams said.<\/p>\n

Timber Systems has supplied and designed projects that range from significant public works such as the new Straw Market to worship structures such as St Anselm\u2019s, Holy Family, St Francis Xavier and Christ the King in Nassau to landmark resort structures such as Ocean Club, Atlantis, and Disney\u2019s Castaway Cay.<\/p>\n
