{"id":36186,"date":"2013-05-29T08:42:31","date_gmt":"2013-05-29T12:42:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/?p=36186"},"modified":"2013-05-29T08:42:31","modified_gmt":"2013-05-29T12:42:31","slug":"silver-to-fly-jacksonville-bahamas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2013\/05\/silver-to-fly-jacksonville-bahamas","title":{"rendered":"Silver To Fly Jacksonville\u2013Bahamas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2013\/05\/silver-to-fly-jacksonville-bahamas-36186.html\/silver-2\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-36187\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-36187\" title=\"silver\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/silver.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/silver.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/silver-150x112.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/silver-250x187.jpg 250w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a>A weekly flight from Jackonsville (JAX) to Marsh Harbour (MHH) will launch on June 15.<\/p>\n<p>The service will operate on Saturdays, leaving Jacksonville at 10.31am to land in the Bahamas at 12.16pm.<\/p>\n<p>From Marsh Harbour, the flight takes off at 12.46pm to touch down at 2.54pm.<\/p>\n<p>Dave Pflieger, president and CEO of Silver Airways, said: &#8220;As Florida&#8217;s hometown airline and the largest US carrier to the Bahamas, we&#8217;re pleased to create a direct link to the incredible vacation product in Marsh Harbour for the travelling public in Jacksonville and its surrounding communities&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Jacksonville International Airport has struggled to attract scheduled international routes, although JetBlue flies to the US commonwealth of Puerto Rico.<\/p>\n<p>Silver Airways has operated in Jacksonville since August 2012 under a codeshare with United Airlines, offering a direct flight to Tampa with a 34-seat Saab 340Bplus.<\/p>\n<p>But on June 8, Silver will begin operating under its own reservation system as an independent airline.<\/p>\n<p>Steve Grossman, Jacksonville Aviation Authority (JAA) executive director\/CEO, said travellers will notice Silver\u2019s increased presence at the terminal.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A ticket counter, gate space and additional aircraft at the terminal will make Silver&#8217;s unique branding difficult to miss,&#8221;
