{"id":36493,"date":"2013-06-11T08:24:33","date_gmt":"2013-06-11T12:24:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/?p=36493"},"modified":"2013-06-11T08:24:33","modified_gmt":"2013-06-11T12:24:33","slug":"communities-must-unite-to-fight-crime","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2013\/06\/communities-must-unite-to-fight-crime","title":{"rendered":"Communities Must Unite To Fight Crime"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-22682\" title=\"stop-violence-crime\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/stop-violence-crime.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/stop-violence-crime.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/stop-violence-crime-150x112.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/>The negative and agonizing impact of crime in our country can be felt throughout the archipelago, and &#8211; it is the number one subject among residents.\u00a0 The solution to it is found among us.\u00a0 We must connect as one people to resolve this national menace.\u00a0 This means that neighbors must get to know each other and their respective communities.\u00a0 If we are not familiar with our next door neighbor, and if we don\u2019t communicate and look out for one another \u2013 then we are part of the crime problem &#8211; my people.<\/p>\n<p>The criminals are feasting on our disunity, selfishness and indifference.\u00a0 We must resolve to unite and fight the unconscionable criminal elements in our mist, or dog will continue to eat our lunch.<\/p>\n<p>We know now, that there is no political organization and their partisans in The Bahamas who are capable of solving our crime challenges alone.\u00a0 If a political party tells us that they have the exclusive answer to solving the nation\u2019s crime situation, we know that that\u2019s a stale lie.\u00a0 If any political leader in these islands is not talking about a unified front to tackle crime, then \u2013 do not vote for them and their party, my brothers and sisters.\u00a0 If they are not preaching harmony in correcting so many of our social ills, do not vote for them.<\/p>\n<p>The Progressive Liberal Party alone does not have the answer; nor does the Free National Movement (FNM) or the wannabe Democratic National Alliance (DNA) \u2013 for that matter.<\/p>\n<p>Political tribalism and cannibalism are deeply imbedded in our culture; and the criminals love us for it.\u00a0 We better flush them out of our system quick, and come together for the prosperous future of our great nation, and unborn citizens.<\/p>\n<p>Wake up my Bahamian people and consider yourselves Bahamians first; not PLP first, or FNM first, or DNA first.\u00a0 The problem is half solved when we put our Bahamas and its rich tomorrow first \u2013 in my view.\u00a0 Then, we must hold those whom we elect to parliament fully accountable.\u00a0 If they tell us that they have the solutions to crime during election time, then \u2013 they better do; or have their bags packed when the next election season comes around \u2013 because, we are voting their lying azzes out.\u00a0 It\u2019s as simple as that my brothers and sisters.<\/p>\n<p>Dennis Dames<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The negative and agonizing impact of crime in our country can be felt throughout the archipelago, and &#8211; it is the number one subject among residents.
