It would also serve as a precursor of the launch of next year\u2019s Japan-CARICOM Friendship Year. Kenny Endo<\/strong><br \/>\nOne of the leading personas in contemporary percussion and rhythm, KENNY ENDO is at the vanguard of the taiko genre, continuing to carve new territory in this Japanese style of drumming.<\/p>\n<p>A performer, composer, and teacher of taiko, he has received numerous awards and accolades, including very special recognition in Japan\u2014he was the first foreigner to be honored with a \u201cnatori,\u201d a stage name, in Japanese classical drumming.<\/p>\n<p>Kenny Endo was a featured artist on the PBS special \u201cSpirit of Taiko\u201d in 2005.<\/p>\n<p>He has performed for such musicians as the late Michael Jackson and Prince, opened for The Who, performed a duet with singer Bobby McFerrin, and is featured on the soundtracks for Kayo Hatta\u2019s film \u201cPicture Bride\u201d, Francis Ford Coppola\u2019s \u201cApocalypse Now\u201d, and recently worked on James Cameron\u2019s \u201cAvatar\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>He had a day named for him by the Mayor of Honolulu- \u201cKenny Endo Day\u201d, and was honored by the National Endowment for the Arts for American Masterpieces.<\/p>\n<p>Kenny has released 8 CDs of original music.\u00a0 Kenny Endo is a consummate artist, blending Japanese taiko with rhythms influenced by\u00a0his jazz background and by collaborations with musicians from around the world.\u00a0 website:\u00a0\u00a0http:\/\/www.kennyendo.com<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-36701\" title=\"taiko\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/taiko.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/taiko.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/taiko-150x112.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/taiko-250x187.jpg 250w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><br \/>\n<strong>Artist Profile &#8211; Eri Ishizuka<\/strong><br \/>\nERI ISHIZUKA has been playing taiko since the age of 10 and also performs hogaku hayashi (Japanese classical drumming as found in Kabuki theater and Nagauta music).<\/p>\n<p>She first joined a taiko group called &#8216;Hatoyama Koin no Kai&#8217;
