Coast Guard Lt. Cmdr. Gabe Somma says the Cessna took off Tuesday from Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport.<\/p>\n<p>The Coast Guard dispatched a rescue helicopter from a U.S. military base on Andros Island but a Bahamian maritime police unit reached the pilot first.<\/p>\n<p>The pilot is identified as Jefferson Freitas.
