{"id":38205,"date":"2013-08-14T09:37:19","date_gmt":"2013-08-14T13:37:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/?p=38205"},"modified":"2013-08-14T09:37:19","modified_gmt":"2013-08-14T13:37:19","slug":"mp-accuses-man-of-sons-murder","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2013\/08\/mp-accuses-man-of-sons-murder","title":{"rendered":"MP Accuses Man of Son\u2019s Murder"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2013\/08\/mp-accuses-man-of-sons-murder-38205.html\/leslie-3\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-38206\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-38206\" title=\"leslie\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/leslie.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/leslie.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/leslie-150x112.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/leslie-250x187.jpg 250w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a>Tall Pines Member of Parliament Leslie Miller named the man he believes is responsible for the murder of his son.<\/p>\n<p>On the floor of the House of Assembly, Miller said Dion Bowe, a man who he claims left the country for a decade following the brutal killing of Mario Miller, has since resurfaced on New Providence and remains free, calling himself a business consultant.<\/p>\n<p>Mario Miller\u2019s mutilated body was found in June, 2002, in bushes near Super Value food store in Winton, just a few minutes drive from his home.<\/p>\n<p>After three trials, no one has been convicted of murdering Mario Miller, who was 28 when he died.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI realize that a lot of my colleagues in here dislike when I talk about it because they don\u2019t feel the pain that I feel,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey don\u2019t feel the hurt that my family is feeling because it hasn\u2019t happened to them.\u201d Miller went on to detail an experience he had with a man less than a week after Mario<br \/>\nwas killed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAbout four days after Mario was butchered I was going upstairs in the British Colonial hotel,\u201d Miller explained.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA young man stopped me and said to me, \u201cYou know? I know who killed your son.\u2019 I said, \u2018Yeah&#8230;who?\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe said, \u2018Some guys out of Jamaica came to The Bahamas on one boat and they went through Great Harbour Cay, and that\u2019s how they escaped.\u2019 I said, \u2018I see.\u2019 I said, \u2018How you know that?.\u2019 He said, \u2018I know them.\u2019 I said, \u2018I see.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI found out later through the police&#8230;that the same person who approached me telling me who killed Mario, one of his girlfriends had slept with Mario the Friday night before they butchered him that Saturday, and he had told her that he was going to have my son killed. He told her this.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe never did appear in court for the case. She left the country. I don\u2019t know where she<br \/>\nis today.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe gentleman in question, the police questioned him once. He subsequently left the island for 10 years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMr. Speaker, that same person that told me who killed my son, and who I understood from the police and others that he had, in fact, told his girlfriend that he was going to have my son killed is back in town now. [He] calls himself a business consultant. The gentleman I\u2019m talking about is fellow named Dion Bowe. [I\u2019ve] seen him around town.\u201d<br \/>\nHe said 11 years after Mario\u2019s death, he and his family still do not have closure, and \u201cjustice must prevail\u201d. \u201cNo one feels our pain, and I don\u2019t cry on anyone\u2019s shoulder, Mr. Speaker,\u201d Miller said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen things get tough and the family can\u2019t take it they turn to Job (scripture). But justice must prevail in this country and that\u2019s why I say justice delayed is sometimes viewed as justice denied.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Miller said there are times when he wishes God would \u201ctake me out of here\u201d to allow him to be with his son.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSometimes at night, Mr. Speaker, after these deep experiences, I would go and get my shotgun of out the closet and go downstairs, and by the time I get in the car, I would hear mama\u2019s voice saying, \u2018Go back inside. You\u2019re only going to get in trouble.
