{"id":39115,"date":"2013-09-10T08:28:19","date_gmt":"2013-09-10T12:28:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/?p=39115"},"modified":"2013-09-10T08:46:08","modified_gmt":"2013-09-10T12:46:08","slug":"btvi-hosts-students-to-welcome-and-volunteer-fair","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2013\/09\/btvi-hosts-students-to-welcome-and-volunteer-fair","title":{"rendered":"BTVI Hosts Students To Welcome &#038; Volunteer Fair"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-39124\" title=\"ladder-sky\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/ladder-sky.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/ladder-sky.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/ladder-sky-150x112.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/>New and returning students of The Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute (BTVI) recently participated in an informative, fun-filled Welcome and Volunteer fair at its Nassau campus.<\/p>\n<p>The fair was a smorgasbord of resources to support student success; in addition, according to Student Affairs Coordinator, Mrs. Raquel Bethel, some of the participating vendors were available for students to volunteer their services in an effort to foster social responsibility.<\/p>\n<p>BTVI, which is headed by Manager, Dr. Iva Dahl, provides post-secondary technical and vocational education and training.\u00a0 It has a current enrollment of approximately 1,800 students at its Nassau and Freeport campuses.<\/p>\n<p>During the event, staff and participating vendors shared information to aide students as they navigate through the stages of higher learning.\u00a0 Students were encouraged by Academic Dean, Valdez Russell, to avail themselves of the multiplicity of opportunities at BTVI.\u00a0 He wished them well, adding that BTVI is where they belong.<\/p>\n<p>One of the vendors was The Royal Bank of Canada, Mackey Street.\u00a0 Branch Manager, Tyrone J.
