{"id":3942,"date":"2010-11-08T09:39:20","date_gmt":"2010-11-08T14:39:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/?p=3942"},"modified":"2010-11-08T09:39:20","modified_gmt":"2010-11-08T14:39:20","slug":"lobbyist-paid-15k-to-waters-husband","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2010\/11\/lobbyist-paid-15k-to-waters-husband","title":{"rendered":"Lobbyist Paid $15K to Waters&#8217; Husband"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Syndey Williams, former US Ambassador to The Bahamas and husband of allegedly corrupt US legislator Maxine Waters, is embroiled in another scandal involving questionable payments from a lobbyist.<\/p>\n<p>It has alleged in the past that Ms Waters and her husband pulled numerous unethical and possibly illegal real estate and financial deals while Mr Williams was Ambassador to the Bahamas, a corrupt island chain where drugs, human trafficking and money laundering are all but sanctioned by the political elite.<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Waters has been ccused of improprieties before. She is still fighting charges brought by the House ethics committee that she improperly sought federal help for a bank in which her husband was a former board member and a current stockholder.
