{"id":4137,"date":"2010-11-16T11:28:30","date_gmt":"2010-11-16T16:28:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/?p=4137"},"modified":"2010-11-16T11:28:30","modified_gmt":"2010-11-16T16:28:30","slug":"murdererous-ex-cop-gets-bail","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2010\/11\/murdererous-ex-cop-gets-bail","title":{"rendered":"Murdererous Ex-Cop Gets Bail"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Supreme Court has granted bail to a former police constable accused of murder six months after his arrest.<\/p>\n<p>Kenneth Gibson, 29, is charged with the stabbing death of George Carey at Lockhart\u2019s Bar on Wulff Road in April.<\/p>\n<p>Gibson was a serving member of the police force when prosecutors allege that he committed the crime.<\/p>\n<p>However, the commissioner of police fired him after he was charged with the offense in May.<\/p>\n<p>Gibson\u2019s lawyer Jomo Campbell applied for bail aurguing that the prosecution\u2019s proposed evidence was weak.<\/p>\n<p>The Supreme Court set bail at $35,000 with two sureties on Thursday.
