Already serving a 20-year-prison sentence for armed robbery, Michael Fowler was handed more time for holding up a gas station five years ago.<\/p>\n
Fowler, 35, who represented himself, was sentenced to 17 more years beginning today at Her Majesty’s Prison, Fox Hill, for the 2005 armed robbery of service station.<\/p>\n
He was charged that year along with another for a string of armed robberies, including the Queen’s Highway Service Station on Wednesday, November 23, 2005.<\/p>\n
Fowler, who is presently serving 20 years for the armed robbery of a food vendor on Adventurer’s Way on November 24, 2005, represented himself in court on Friday.<\/p>\n
He was sentenced on September 10, 2008 for that armed robbery.<\/p>\n
Fowler was additionally charged with allegedly robbing a librarian at the Charles Hayward Library of an undetermined amount of cash, the property of the library.<\/p>\n
The librarian had just closed up for the day and was about to enter her Green 1998 Toyota Corolla that was parked at the rear of the building when she was accosted by a dark male, brandishing a silver handgun.<\/p>\n
That year, Fowler was also alleged to have robbed the Hawksbill Service Station, the Burns House Liquor Store in the Churchill Square, downtown, and the Liquor Gallery, formerly Burns House, Queens Highway between October and November.<\/p>\n
