The Bahamas Hotel and Tourism Association in cooperation with the industry Human Resources Professionals facilitated a half day workshop for the staff at Cape Santa Maria Resort in Long Island.<\/p>\n
The resort manager Brook Castelsky and his wife Eva were delighted to have the team of Beverly Saunders, Vice President of Training and Development at Atlantis and Diana Bowe, Manager of\u00a0Technology training at Atlantis facilitate\u00a0the session.\u00a0 According to Brook, \u201cIt was a pleasure having them here. The session went very well and we had a great response from the staff.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are pleased to be able to offer training to the Family Island employees.\u00a0 They are hardworking and committed to delivering world renowned service to our guest.\u00a0 We had a great time sharing and focusing on the fundamentals of delivering incredible experiences to our guest\u201d says Beverly Saunders.<\/p>\n
The Bahamas Hotel and Tourism Association\u2019s President, Mr. Stuart Bowe says, \u201cWe want to continue to encourage the development of our Family Island employees who work in the industry.\u00a0 In the past two years we have facilitated six sessions on Long Island, Cat Island and Eleuthera and we hope to reach other Family Islands in the near future.\u201d<\/p>\n
The session included a video, discussions, role plays, and activities to bring the learning to life. \u201cMany of the employees of Cape Santa Maria are seasoned veterans of the industry.\u00a0 One employee had been with the resort for 19 years.\u00a0 \u201cThe level of commitment is so encouraging\u201d says Beverly Saunders.<\/p>\n
