{"id":444,"date":"2010-08-04T11:47:49","date_gmt":"2010-08-04T15:47:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/?p=444"},"modified":"2010-08-04T11:47:49","modified_gmt":"2010-08-04T15:47:49","slug":"600000-drugs-shootout","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2010\/08\/600000-drugs-shootout","title":{"rendered":"$600,000 In Drugs Seized After Shootout"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FREEPORT: Grand Bahama Police seized almost $600,000 worth of illegal drugs and arrested two men, one of whom was shot during a high-speed chase and shootout with officers.<\/p>\n<p>Assistant Superintendent Hector Delva said police are searching for a third man who escaped after the vehicle being pursued by officers crashed into a tree.<\/p>\n<p>According to reports, DEU officers were on patrol around 11.25pm on Saturday when they observed a white 2000 Chevy Astro van exiting Magellan Road.<\/p>\n<p>The occupants were acting in a suspicious manner so officers pursued the vehicle and a chase ensued.<\/p>\n<p>ASP Delva said there was an exchange of gunfire between the suspects and police.<\/p>\n<p>The driver of the Astro van eventually lost control of the vehicle and collided into a tree on Tarleton Road, where two suspects were apprehended.
