Nassau, The Bahamas \u2013 The Ministry of the Environment met with representatives from the Pan American Health Organisation\/World Health Organisation (PAHO\/WHO) whom are contracted to propose to design, develop and install an electronic information system within the Department of Environmental Health (DEHS).<\/p>\n
On November 22, Dr. Merle Lewis and Ms. Yvette Holder paid a courtesy call on Minister of the Environment, the Hon. Earl Deveaux, to discuss the proposal that will digitally upgrade the inspection database to organise data entry, storage and analysis.<\/p>\n
Ms. Holder is a contracted DEHS Consultant and is an experienced Biostatistician and Epidemiologist.\u00a0 She would implement the new information system through setting up a framework for the automated system, providing training material, monitoring on-site beta-testing of computer systems, as well as debug and refine the new information system.<\/p>\n
