Group travel business to the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island is showing signs of a revitalization for 2011.<\/p>\n
George Markantonis, president and managing director of Kerzner International Bahamas, told the Nassau Guardian that despite 2010 group bookings being essentially flat compared to 2009, 2011 is set to show significant growth.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf you were to compare year on year, we are running right now about 30% ahead of definite or confirmed group bookings than we had at the same time last year,\u201d Markantonis said.<\/p>\n
Group travel is an integral part of Atlantis\u2019 success, accounting for 25% to 28% of its business, according to Markantonis.\u00a0 The real contribution of group business, however, is more substantial than suggested by the obvious direct contribution.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
