The victim is believed to be of Haitian descent. He was pronounced dead at the scene.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0The man&#8217;s wife and daughter were each shot to the upper body. They were both airlifted to New Providence for treatment.<\/p>\n<p>There was speculation last night that the shooting may have been a robbery attempt. Police said robbery is one of several possible motives being investigated.<\/p>\n<p>The mans&#8217; vehicle was reportedly still running when police arrived at the scene, indicating that the victim may have been ambushed.<\/p>\n<p>In September, a New Providence man was reportedly the victim of a late night ambush after he was pulled from a parked car by a group of men who shot him twice in the upper body.\u00a0 That incident occurred at the intersection of Carmichael Road and McKinney Drive.<\/p>\n<p>And just last week, Constable Latroy Bodie, a DEU officer who was off-duty at the time, was shot several times while in the Miami Street area on November 4th. Bodie was near the residence of a friend around 5:00am when he was ambushed and shot while sitting in his car.<\/p>\n<p>The Abaco killing is the 91st homicide for The Bahamas in 2010, setting another grueling annual record.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A man was shot to death at his home in Abaco last night.
