{"id":49847,"date":"2014-02-24T09:00:48","date_gmt":"2014-02-24T14:00:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/?p=49847"},"modified":"2014-02-25T10:18:03","modified_gmt":"2014-02-25T15:18:03","slug":"reach-out-ministries-us-state-department-exchange","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2014\/02\/reach-out-ministries-us-state-department-exchange","title":{"rendered":"Reach Out Ministries Coordinator Represents Grand Bahama at U.S. State Department Exchange"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-49922\" alt=\"united-states-embassy-nassau\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/united-states-embassy-nassau.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"325\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On Friday, February 21, Mr. Dudley Seide, Director of Reach-Out Ministries, a non-profit organization on Grand Bahama paid a courtesy call on U.S. Charg\u00e9 d\u2019Affaires John Dinkelman at the U.S. Embassy to discuss his participation in the U.S. Department of State sponsored International Visitor Leadership Program, \u201cCaribbean Basin Security Initiative \u2013 Engaging Underserved and At-Risk Youth.\u201d\u00a0 The Caribbean Basin Security Initiative is a partnership between the United States, CARICOM member nations and the Dominican Republic to work together to combat the drug trade and other transnational crimes that threaten regional security.<\/p>\n<p>During the three-week exchange, Mr. Seide along with representatives from Guyana, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago visited four U.S. cities: Washington, D.C., Salt Lake City, Utah, Des Moines Iowa and New Orleans, Louisiana.<\/p>\n<p>During the meeting with Charg\u00e9 Dinkelman, Mr. Seide highlighted some of the areas of focus during the professional exchange which included examining primary prevention programs for at-risk youth and efforts of schools, community-based organizations and faith-based groups to intervene before early problem behaviors turn into gang involvement.
