{"id":51088,"date":"2014-03-04T09:58:34","date_gmt":"2014-03-04T14:58:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/?p=51088"},"modified":"2014-03-04T09:59:10","modified_gmt":"2014-03-04T14:59:10","slug":"embassy-donates-portable-x-ray-machines-to-health-ministry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2014\/03\/embassy-donates-portable-x-ray-machines-to-health-ministry","title":{"rendered":"Embassy Donates Portable X-Ray Machines To Health Ministry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-51089\" alt=\"us-embassy-bahamas-health-xray\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/us-embassy-bahamas-health-xray.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"325\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On Monday, March 3, 2014, U.S. Embassy officials formally met with Minister of Health Dr. Perry Gomez and representatives from the Public Hospitals Authority to participate in the handover of four new portable X-ray machines during a brief ceremony at the Princess Margaret Hospital in the newly constructed Critical Care Block.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-51090\" alt=\"usemabassy-bahamas-health\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/usemabassy-bahamas-health.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/>This latest donation is the culmination of three public health projects in The Bahamas supported by the United States Government\u2019s Department of Defense&#8217;s Global Health Engagement policy and the United States Northern Command\u2019s (USNORTHCOM) Building Partner Capacity program facilitated through U.S. Embassy Nassau.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. Embassy\u2019s Political Officer Yancy Caruthers attended the handover ceremony and highlighted the significance of \u201chealth diplomacy,\u201d a common ground that says that above economic or physical resources \u2013 people are the most important commodity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis project is a clear illustration of our shared values \u2013 that the ability of a nation to care for its people is one of the most important things of all.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The X-ray machines will double the size of the Public Hospital Authority\u2019s capacity to serve patients as three of the machines will be used to service patients throughout New Providence while the other will be transferred to Grand Bahama to serve the critical needs of patients there.
