{"id":52852,"date":"2014-03-12T16:07:56","date_gmt":"2014-03-12T20:07:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/?p=52852"},"modified":"2014-03-17T08:48:29","modified_gmt":"2014-03-17T12:48:29","slug":"gbpa-sponsors-business-training","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2014\/03\/gbpa-sponsors-business-training","title":{"rendered":"GBPA Sponsors Business Training"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-52853\" alt=\"grand-bahama-port-authority\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/grand-bahama-port-authority.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"325\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Freeport, Grand Bahama \u2013\u00a0 The Grand Bahama Port Authority, Limited (GBPA) is once again partnering with the Caribbean Export Development Agency (CEDA) to provide business management training for SMEs on Grand Bahama.\u00a0 Also lending their support is the Grand Bahama Chamber of Commerce and the Bahamas Agricultural &amp; Industrial Corporation (BAIC).<\/p>\n<p>Making the announcement regarding the ProNet Business Management Training Series which is set to begin at the end of the month was GBPA President, Ian Rolle.\u00a0 \u201cThe ProNet Series as offered by CEDA, is part of an ongoing mandate to develop the SME business sector in CARIFORUM countries, thereby preparing them to meet the demands of a highly competitive global business environment.\u00a0 By the very nature of this training, GBPA is excited to be party to this initiative,\u201d Rolle said.<\/p>\n<p>Managers and business owners of small and medium enterprises on the island that are GBPA licencees and that have been in business for at least a year are encouraged to take advantage of the complimentary, specialized training that is being conducted in Grand Bahama for the very first time.<\/p>\n<p>The programme will be presented in three stages \u2013 Business Strategy March 25th &amp; 26th; Cost &amp; Financial Management April 29th &amp; 30th; and Export Marketing May 27th \u2013 29th.<\/p>\n<p>Space is limited, therefore GBPA\u2019s Commercial Manager, Charles Pratt encouraged interested persons to submit their applications early to GBPA\u2019s Enterprising Centre, the Grand Bahama Chamber of Commerce, or BAIC.\u00a0 An internationally recognized facilitator will serve as a master trainer and participants will receive an internationally recognized certificate upon completion of all three modules.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGBPA has committed to sponsoring qualifying businesses to participate in the initial management training,\u201d added Rolle.\u00a0 \u201cWe believe that this initiative can translate into significant benefits for the island\u2019s economy, not only by way of additional employment opportunities and job creation, but also by means of local businesses tapping into new, and in some cases foreign markets for export of Bahamian manufactured products.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em>The Grand Bahama Port Authority, Limited<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\"><em>GBPA LAUNCHES ANOTHER PRIVATE SECTOR INITIATIVE: The Grand Bahama Port Authority, Limited announced the launch of its ProNet Business Management Training Series for SMEs in conjunction with the Caribbean Export Development Agency (CEDA) and other sponsors.\u00a0 Pictured (left to right): Billie Bowe, Second VP, GB Chamber of Commerce; GBPA President, Ian Rolle; and Charles Pratt, Commercial Manager, GBPA.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Grand Bahama Port Authority, Limited (GBPA) is once again partnering with the Caribbean Export Development Agency (CEDA) to provide business management training for SMEs on Grand Bahama.
