{"id":5292,"date":"2010-12-20T09:12:49","date_gmt":"2010-12-20T14:12:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/?p=5292"},"modified":"2010-12-20T09:12:49","modified_gmt":"2010-12-20T14:12:49","slug":"businesses-win-in-court","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2010\/12\/businesses-win-in-court","title":{"rendered":"Businesses Win in Court"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In a case with wide-ranging implications, the Supreme Court decided that businesses are entitled to recieve millions of dollars in compensation for the government&#8217;s decision to make sections of Blue Hill Road and Market Street one-way thoroughfares as part of the New Providence Road Improvement Project (NPRIP).<\/p>\n<p>The government may have to compensate as many as 50 businesses in the Coconut Grove Business League (CGBL) as a result of the ruling by Justice Neville Adderley.<\/p>\n<p>The CGBL requested a judicial review of the government&#8217;s decision arguing that the road changes significantly reduced business in the area.
