{"id":5794,"date":"2011-01-19T09:40:58","date_gmt":"2011-01-19T14:40:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/?p=5794"},"modified":"2011-01-19T09:40:58","modified_gmt":"2011-01-19T14:40:58","slug":"bahamas-gains-exempt-status-from-ncaa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2011\/01\/bahamas-gains-exempt-status-from-ncaa","title":{"rendered":"Bahamas Gains Exempt Status From NCAA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The NCAA has given the Bahamas exempt status, clearing the way for the island nation to host a new holiday tournament that organizers hope will become the East Coast version of the Maui Invitational.<\/p>\n<p>The NCAA&#8217;s Division I Board of Directors approved the Bahamas&#8217; proposal without discussion over the weekend and the legislation goes into effect on Aug. 1.
