A gesture of compensation from BTC to their customers to apologize for the recent service disruption will get underway on April 5th for prepaid customers with a $5.00 credit and on April 6th for postpaid customers with a credit of a 100 on-net minutes.<\/p>\n
Additionally BTC has announced that on April 8th, a new \u2018Text to Win\u2019 promotion will begin where all BTC mobile customers have a chance to win a new 2014 KIA car from Sanpin Motors just by sending a text with the word \u201ccar\u201d to #5007, as well as thousands of dollars in prizes including additional credit.<\/p>\n
Jerome Sawyer Senior PR Manager said that the compensation value represents approximately five times the average daily consumption.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe total compensation to customers is over a million dollars at $1,700,000.\u00a0 We estimate that the payout value represents approximately five times the regular daily consumption of the average customer. The prepaid customers compensation is $1,235,000 and for postpaid, $465,000.\u00a0 The differential in the totals reflects the larger prepaid customer base.\u201d<\/p>\n
The senior manager went on to say that BTC will always, as in the past, apologize to their customers and where appropriate give compensation when service disruptions occur.
\n\u201cObviously, we would rather not have service disruptions, but we always apologize and seek to soften the blow with some form of compensation or community give back,\u201d said the PR Manager.<\/p>\n
BTC said last week that an independent investigation is under way to ascertain the cause of the disruption.<\/p>\n
