{"id":5925,"date":"2011-01-28T08:17:31","date_gmt":"2011-01-28T13:17:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/?p=5925"},"modified":"2011-01-28T08:17:31","modified_gmt":"2011-01-28T13:17:31","slug":"our-lucaya-gm-responds-to-union","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2011\/01\/our-lucaya-gm-responds-to-union","title":{"rendered":"Our Lucaya GM Responds to Union"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Our Lucaya Resort General Manager Michael  Weber said he was unaware of a rumour that the property was preparing to  terminate some 50 managerial and supervisory employees, as was claimed  by the Bahamas Hotel Managerial Association (BHMA).<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, BHMA president Obie Ferguson told The Freeport News that industrial action could be in the works at that resort.<\/p>\n<p>Ferguson said the BHMA learned last week that there was a &#8220;covert  plan&#8221; being hatched to let go the workers, who all belong to the union.
