{"id":5957,"date":"2011-01-31T09:30:52","date_gmt":"2011-01-31T14:30:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/?p=5957"},"modified":"2011-01-31T09:30:52","modified_gmt":"2011-01-31T14:30:52","slug":"call-for-strict-ban-on-seafood","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2011\/01\/call-for-strict-ban-on-seafood","title":{"rendered":"Call For Strict Ban on Seafood"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Bahamas should follow the example of its  neighbour, the Turks and Caicos Islands, and implement a stringent ban  on seafood being sold at restaurants outside of the season, says  assistant fisheries superintendent Clement Campbell.<\/p>\n<p>The crawfish season is closed from March 31 &#8211; August 1.<\/p>\n<p>However, Campbell pointed out that there are several eating  establishments that can be found during this time period offering menu  options made from this crustacean.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;What I would like to see is that when the crawfish season is closed  there is no crawfish available for the four months.
