Walter Iooss, known for his iconic shots of athletes, musicians and world leaders, will return to Grand Isle in Exuma, Bahamas from November 2 \u2013 8, 2014 – the very spot where he shot Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2013 just over a year ago.<\/p>\n
The one-of-a-kind event, designed to attract photography enthusiasts from around the world, combines the luxury and style of Grand Isle with an exciting Program of Events.<\/p>\n
“When you come and stay in Exuma, I think it often sticks with people,” said Grant Castle, the executive director of Grand Isle. “Certainly, that was the case with Walter, and we are thrilled to invite him back. Born in Texas, Walter has been synonymous with Sports Illustrated for more than 50 years, delivering award-winning images of greats like Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods and Muhammad Ali. He has also worked for Atlantic Records, shooting music legends like James Brown, Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin.<\/p>\n
In 2004, he received the prestigious Lucie Award for Lifetime Achievement in Sports Photography.<\/p>\n
“Exuma is the perfect backdrop for this experience,” Iooss explained. “At this stage in my career, I’m really looking forward to imparting what knowledge I have to aspiring photographers, or anyone who is passionate about the art. We’re going to have an amazing time.”<\/p>\n
The five-day workshop offers morning orientation classes with hands-on instruction in the afternoons. By land and by sea, guests will be whisked across the main island of Exuma and down a stunning archipelago populated with celebrities and business moguls, all the while receiving personalized instruction from this legendary photographer.Guests will receive specific instruction in a variety of disciplines, such as shooting breathtaking landscapes, perfect portraits and sports\/action photography. The workshop ends with a full-day excursion down the Exuma Cays to a private island, known as Farmer’s Cay, where guests will photograph a lively soccer game between a dozen of the remote island’s schoolchildren. Other shoots feature appearances from Bahamian models and Exuma’s famous swimming pigs.<\/p>\n
