Charles Maynard (third from left) are pictured with leaders of The Bahamas National Children\u2019s Choir during the Adisa Foundation&#39;s awards presentation at Government House on August 9.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Nassau, The Bahamas \u2013 Outstanding children in dance, music and drama were recognised for their abilities by the Adisa Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>The children received awards in primary, junior and senior high categories. His Excellency Governor-General Sir Arthur Foulkes, the Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture the Hon. Charles Maynard and the Acting Director of Youth Eddie Dames presented the awards.<\/p>\n<p>Parents, teachers, family and friends attended the special ceremony in the Ballroom of Government House on August 9, where Damian Davis and The Boys Choir of The Bahamas provided entertainment.<\/p>\n<p>Among those receiving awards in the primary category was Karrington McKenzie for music, Berkelle Smith for dance and Kyla Harvey for drama.<\/p>\n<p>Clarissa Smith and Amber Saunders received awards in the junior high category for music and dance respectively. In the senior high category Lorenzo Newbold received an award for music and Annee Wildgoose received an award for drama.<\/p>\n<p>Lorenzo Newbold presented Sir Arthur and Minister Maynard with The Bahamas National Children\u2019s Choir\u2019s Bronze Level award for their performance during adjudications at the Young 2010 Prague festival and competition held on March 26, 2010, in the National House Vinohrady, Prague, Czech Republic. This was the first time that the Bahamian choir competed in the event and the choir was the only one from the Western Hemisphere taking part in any division. The choir is led by Audrey Dean-Wright, co-founder; Patricia Bazard, director and co-founder and assistant director, Alfred Dean.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Bazard said there is nothing more wonderful than children.
