{"id":67244,"date":"2014-06-03T09:23:02","date_gmt":"2014-06-03T13:23:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/target\/human-rights-group-alerted-to-cash-case"},"modified":"2014-06-03T09:23:02","modified_gmt":"2014-06-03T13:23:02","slug":"human-rights-group-alerted-to-cash-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2014\/06\/human-rights-group-alerted-to-cash-case","title":{"rendered":"Human Rights Group Alerted To Cash Case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/target\/human-rights-group-alerted-to-cash-case\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full alignright\" alt=\"Human Rights Group Alerted To Cash Case\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/darron_cash_t180.jpg\" width=\"180\" height=\"212\" \/><\/a>Free National Movement Chairman Darron Cash has filed a report against the government with Amnesty International over alleged human rights abuses in the aftermath of a search at his home and seizure of personal items.<\/p>\n<p>Citing political persecution in two lengthy narratives released yesterday, Mr Cash called for immediate legislative reform through amendments to the Criminal Procedures Code; the establishment of the Office of the Ombudsman; the enactment of a Whistleblower Protection Act and the enactment of the Freedom of Information Act.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Cash also raised concerns about the warrant police produced to search his home. The FNM chairman said the document was signed by a justice of the peace, who was a religious preacher with no legal training.
