On Wednesday March 9th, under the guidance of President Eric Lopez, the Rotary Club of West Nassau donated over $500.00 worth of books to the Sadie Curtis Primary School library.\u00a0 Rotary Director Delric Beneby organized the project.<\/p>\n
During the donation, the Club recognized 50 students that were chosen from throughout different classes at the school.<\/p>\n
The students chosen were selected from a program at the school called “The Six Pillars of Character” The six pillars are Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship.\u00a0 The purpose of the program is to encourage the students to be a person of character.<\/p>\n
The Six Pillars of Character:<\/p>\n
Trustworthiness \u2013 Never sacrifice your honor.\u00a0 With honor comes trust.\u00a0 With trust comes lasting relationships.\u00a0 With lasting relationships comes success and happiness.<\/p>\n
Respect \u2013 Treat others the way you want to be treated.<\/p>\n
Responsibility \u2013 Dreams are what gets you started.\u00a0 Discipline is what keeps you going.<\/p>\n
Fairness \u2013 Everyone who asks justice should do justice.<\/p>\n
Caring \u2013 Do all the good you can do by all means you can.\u00a0 In all places you can to all the people you can.\u00a0 As long as ever you can.<\/p>\n
Citizenship \u2013 Ask not what your country can do for you ask what you can do for your country.<\/p>\n
A number of Rotarians attended the event and served lunch to the students from pre-school to grade 6 and from the special education section.\u00a0 The principal of the school is Ms. Audrey Farrington.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
