You can lessen this  recurring loss by learning Continuous Chest Compression CPR, a  hands-only CPR method that doubles a person\u2019s chance of surviving  cardiac arrest. It\u2019s easy and does not require mouth-to-mouth contact,  making it more likely bystanders will try to help, and it was developed  here at the University of Arizona College of Medicine. \u201cThis video is  worth sharing,\u201d said <strong>Gordon A. Ewy, MD<\/strong>, director of the UA Sarver Heart Center and one of the research pioneers who developed this method.<\/p>\n<p><object classid=\"clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000\" width=\"480\" height=\"390\" codebase=\"http:\/\/download.macromedia.com\/pub\/shockwave\/cabs\/flash\/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0\"><param name=\"src\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/EcbgpiKyUbs\" \/><embed type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" width=\"480\" height=\"390\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/EcbgpiKyUbs\"><\/embed><\/object><\/p>\n<div>Sarver  Heart Center\u2019s newest video was developed to make it easy for people to  learn Continuous Chest Compression CPR. Dr. Ewy is hoping the video,  which is posted on YouTube, goes \u201cviral\u201d and gives more people the  opportunity to be lifesavers. \u201cEvery day people are asked to forward  e-mails to their entire contact lists. This is one e-mail link that can  truly make a difference in people\u2019s lives,\u201d said <strong>Karl B. Kern, MD<\/strong>, professor of medicine at the UA College of Medicine, who chairs the Sarver Heart Center resuscitation group.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<div><strong>If you see someone collapse who isn\u2019t responsive and has trouble breathing:<\/strong><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Tell someone to call 911 or make the call yourself.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Position  the person with the back on the floor. Place the heel of one hand on  the center of the chest (between the nipples) and the heel of the other  hand on top of the first. Lock your elbows, position your shoulders over  your hands and use your upper-body weight to \u201cfall\u201d downward. Lift your  hands slightly each time to allow the chest wall to recoil.
