A 35-year-old woman from Florida was seriously injured when the banana boat she was riding in collided with a jet-ski driven by two people.<\/p>\n
The Tribune newspaper reported the story but did not identify the two people riding the jet-ski. This usually indicates that they were Bahamians, as the local papers are often reluctant to name Bahamians who are involved in such matters, especially if the Bahamians are at fault.<\/p>\n
The incident occurred just after 3:00pm on Sunday on Cabbage Beach off Paradise Island. The woman is now in the hospital where she is being treated for a fractured leg.<\/p>\n
This is the second jet-ski related accident in the past two weeks and one of many that have occurred in The Bahamas over the past few years.<\/p>\n
Less than two weeks ago, a 27-year-old woman who had arrived on a Carnival Cruise ship was killed when the jet-ski she was riding on, with another tourist, crashed into a boat in Nassau Harbour.<\/p>\n
