A doctor at Rand Memorial Hospital has confirmed the death of a young man who disappeared on a jet ski Friday evening.<\/p>\n
The body of the 17-year-old Freeport resident was found in shallow waters off Grand Bahama early Saturday morning after an extensive search by BASRA, Defense Force, Bahamas Police and concerned residents.<\/p>\n
The victim, whose identity has not yet been released, was last seen by a watersports operator who said the young man had left the Lucaya area for Williams Town at around 6:00pm on Friday.<\/p>\n
Back in Nassau, authorities are still searching for a man who disappeared following a boating accident near Prince George Wharf on Friday night.<\/p>\n
Police said the man was on a 17-ft vessel with a 19-year-old woman when he lost control and crashed into a pier. The boat sank, the woman swam to safety but the man who had been driving the boat disappeared.<\/p>\n
It is believed that the man, who is in his 20s, is an officer in the Royal Bahamas Police Force.<\/p>\n
