{"id":9264,"date":"2011-06-08T08:51:52","date_gmt":"2011-06-08T12:51:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/?p=9264"},"modified":"2011-07-05T11:03:32","modified_gmt":"2011-07-05T15:03:32","slug":"where-is-bahamian-pride-in-garbage-left-on-beaches","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/2011\/06\/where-is-bahamian-pride-in-garbage-left-on-beaches","title":{"rendered":"Where is Bahamian Pride in Garbage Left on Beaches?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yet again, a concerned resident is taking up the  mantle of an issue that has been ignored by the general public for too long&#8230; the issue of garbage left on beaches following social  events.<\/p>\n<p>In a letter to The Freeport News, Geoffrey Arnold appealed to  authorities for assistance in bringing some relief to persons living in  the area of Fortune Beach, and guests dining at the restaurant &#8211; Banana  Bay.<\/p>\n<p>With photographs Mr Arnold showed the garbage that was left behind by persons who used the beach to host their private parties. The garbage is now weeks old and nobody has cleaned it up.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is not at the hands of tourists this is Freeporters with a  complete disregard for others or their environment.
