The program is due to start in September 2011 at Cleveland Eneas Primary School in Nassau Village.<\/p>\n<p>Canadian concert pianist, Ron\u00e9e Boyce, says &#8220;I taught music at a school for underprivileged children in Toronto, and have experienced firsthand the everlasting benefits of sharing the gift of music with young minds. As soon as I heard about \u2018El Sistema Bahamas\u2019, I knew I wanted to be a part of making that program happen.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_9387\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-9387\" style=\"width: 170px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-9387 \" title=\"ronee\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/ronee.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"170\" height=\"213\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/ronee.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/ronee-120x150.jpg 120w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 170px) 100vw, 170px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-9387\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ronee Boyce<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Ron\u00e9e Boyce, along with Sybil Shanahan and Sharon Lee (two of her musical colleagues from Canada), have agreed to play a benefit concert in support of the Bahamas Music Conservatory\u2019s \u2018El Sistema Bahamas\u2019 program. The classical trio who are a part of \u2018The Neapolitan Connection Concert Series\u2019 in Toronto, will present an evening of chamber music consisting of French, Russian and Baroque repertoire including popular favorites.\u00a0 The concert will take place at The Ebenezer Methodist Church Sanctuary on Shirley Street at 7:00pm, Sunday, July 3rd 2011. Admission is free, but a collection will be taken for the benefit of the \u2018El Sistema Bahamas\u2019 program.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_9386\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-9386\" style=\"width: 170px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-9386\" title=\"sybil\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/sybil.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"170\" height=\"213\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/sybil.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.bahamasb2b.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/sybil-120x150.jpg 120w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 170px) 100vw, 170px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-9386\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Sybil Shanahan<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Ron\u00e9e, Sybil and Sharon are only three out of fourteen Canadian Musicians who are traveling to the Bahamas at the beginning of July. The group is set to perform in the Nassau City Opera Company\u2019s production of Gershwin\u2019s \u2018Porgy and Bess\u2019.\u00a0 This popular opera will be performed at the Rainforest Theatre July 5th, 6th and 7th with the gala performance being held on July 10th, 2011.
