Setting up your Merchant Account

Merchant Accounts

There are currently 2 options for setting up payment processing that will work with our web builder

The 2 types of payment processing that we support are PayPal and 2Checkout.com. PayPal is an excellent choice, but unfortunately, Bahamians can not currently participate in the PayPal network. So, unless your market is outside The Bahamas, we would suggest you use 2Checkout.com.

Either service requires that you first sign up to establish your payment account arrangements.


Setting up your MyBahamaShop account

  1. Register for the programme.
  2. Contact PayPal or 2Checkout.com to apply for an online payment account.
  3. After your account is approved and set up, make a note of your account information.
  4. Log onto the MyBahamaShop site and begin making your shopping cart.

Next, Edit your web cart set-up page

  1. Log into the cart builder and edit the webcart set-up information.
  2. On this page you will need to select the appropriate Merchant Account type. Such as online processing or offline processing
  3. Then, in the text box provided (Member Number) you will need to place your new account number that you received from either PayPal or 2Checkout.com.
  4. Save the changes made to your cart set-up page.
  5. Create your web cart pages and it should all work fine.
