I have been told that you can go the the hotel atlantis and spend the day even if you are not staying at that resort. It's sort of like a theme/ammusment park.... is this true? If you do you know how much it would cost?

No.. it's not true, you must be a guest of either Atlantis, Harbourside, Ocean Club or Comfort Suites in order to use the facilities at Atlantis.
When the hotel is not at capacity, they sell DAY ROOMS for about $200 plus tax, which allows up to 4 people to use the pools, slides etc. There are security guards posted througout the property checking for bracelets.

The Casinos, shopping areas and indoor restaurants are open to the public. Access to the DIGS aquarium is $29 pp, and does not include access to the outside venues.

I am looking for a tour guide I met when I was in the Bahamas on the Atlantis tour. I don't know his name exactly but I was wondering if there was a website I could go to to find out all the names of the tour guides for the Atlantis tour? Thank you.

I have 5-6 people in my party....are they still going to allow us to rent a room so that we can enjoy the facilities for the day or will they make us get 2 rooms?

You'll need 2 rooms.. There are ways around this.. like sending 4 to go get towels and bracelets, then one returning with the card to get the others in.. but this doesn't always work.

Whether it "works" or not, we can not condone "scamming" Atlantis to save a few bucks.

If lots of people did that, they'd have to charge more for their paying guests and everyone would suffer.

Instead, try explaining the situation to one of the hotel managers and see if they can accommodate you with a small charge for the extra persons.

Planning a stay at the atlantis with a large group of people (6 adults and 10 kids). Can anyone help me with any dining suggestions? We were contemplating purhasing the meal plan (which seems expensive). Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Meal Plans with 10 kids would be a waste. There's plenty of alternative dining options nearby. Including pizza delivery. Anthony's Grill is across the street, Blue Marlin, Zio Gigi are down the block, there's deli's, News Cafe, and ice cream shoppes. These even a quiznos. And there's always Dominos' pizza delivery for those nites your just too exhausted to go out.

On the Nassau side, The Poop Deck over the bridge has terrific seafood and Montegue Gardens can accomodate your needs with Steaks and chops and the like. For a nite out without the kids, I suggest Cafe Matisse or Montegue Gardens.

You'll find other restaurants at the base of the bridge, as well as plenty of upscale, moderate and fast food dining for far less than Atlantis prices.

Conch Fritters in town is great for groups such as yours, as well as Friday Soon Come near the bridge. Lunch time in Nassau is far cheaper that Paradise Island, with places like Cafe Skans, Lums Iguana, or even the local takeaway (Imperial Takeaway) across from the hilton. McDonalds, KFC, Dunkin Donuts are all downtown as well as some you'll find on the Nassau side of the bridge.

Pick up a copy of the Dining Guide when you arrive, they are available at the airport, your hotel lobby and around town. There's even coupons inside for freebies and discounts.

Bring along snaks, granola bars, pringles and juice boxes from home. The cost is out of this world for such things. Some bring along Peanut butter, crackers, cookies and the like. Even crystal light singles. It's all good.

Have a great trip!

My husband and I are going on an excursion from Sovereign of the Seas to Atlantis in April. I heard it was a 15 minute walk from the ferry to the hotel. My husband has back problems and cannot walk too far. Does anyone know really how far it is, and maybe we can take a taxi?

Yes, it is about a 15 minute walk, maybe 1/4 mile. I believe you can catch a taxi right at the ferry terminal.

Remember, the hotel itself is huge and requires a lot of walking also. I am not sure if they would provide non-guests with a wheelchair. You may want to contact Atlantis directly to see if they can accommodate you.

How do children/teens at Atlantis pay for drinks/snacks while at the pool, beach, etc? Will their room key enable charging privledges, or is there some other payment scheme? Is there a bracelet system? Do they need to carry money?

Yes, room keys are acceptable at almost all places within the resort.

Bracelets are mandatory.

There is no need for them to carry cash, unless they are teens and want to go shopping.

Just seeing if anyone can help. I am going to Paradise Island but not staying at Atlantis and would like to use the facilities. How much does it cost to go into the nightclub and can you use the pool at a charge? Also can you go to the restaurants?

The restaurants, adjacent beach, casino, night club and shops are open to the public. The pool area and outdoor aquarium is only available to guests.

I believe the nightclub has a $35 cover charge for non-guests. Also, they accepts credit cards or room keys only, no cash.

When there at christmas, I had a fantastic mixed drink at the bar just down from the casino as you are walking towards the 'bridge' The drink, I believe, was called Raspberry Lemonade and had Chambord in it. Anyone know the ingredients in it? I'd love to mix my own in my souvenir cup here at home!
