In the effort to be duty to be transparent and accountable, prime minister Ingraham made a statement on the New Providence Infrastructure Improvement Project (NPIIP).
BTC repairmen restored service to over 4,000 residential and business customers in eastern New Providence after the road improvement project crew severed major cables in a densely populated area.
Several road closures will go into effect beginning February 27 as the New Providence Infrastructure and Improvement project advances.
A temporary road has been opened on Prince Charles Drive while the existing roadway between St Augustine’s College (SAC) and Beatrice Avenue is closed for underground trenching.
There will be a closure on the northbound lane of Baillou Hill Road south between Amaryllis Avenue and Independence Drive for Thursday, February 23 from 9am to 6pm.
The Ministry of Public Works advises motorists of traffic diversions and road closures on Independence Drive, Robinson Road and Claridge Road.
There will be a night time closure on the Independence Roundabout February 15th beginning at 9pm to facilitate laying of the final layer of asphalt.
Motorists should note that the paving of the northern section of Abundant Life Road (near to Chelsea’s Choice) was delayed due to rain. The new date for paving will be announced in a future update.
