Police in Grand Bahama are in search of a missing Canadian man after a boat, believed to be his, was found in waters off West End.
According to police, the whereabouts of 72-year-old, is unknown at this time but his 30-foot beige and red vessel, the Joy B, was discovered between Sandy Cay and Memory Rock with a Canadian flag.
Batchelor is described as being six feet tall with blue eyes.
The vessel was spotted by occupants of a passing fishing vessel on Thursday, January 19, 2012.
It is believed Batchelor frequented waters off West End.
Bahamian police are in contact with international law enforcement agencies in relation to the missing man, According to Police Affairs and Communications Officer Assistant Superintendent Loretta Mackey.
Meanwhile the police are still appealing to members of the local community with any information regarding the whereabouts of Batchelor to call the Central Detective Unit at 350-3107/8.
