Let's meet the divine-looking ladies who have captured our hearts over the past several weeks.
The lovely Sherwaine D. Ferguson, 20, who stands at 5'5, aspires to become a medical doctor.
"In order to be understood, you first have to understand. I feel this is the reason for a lot of problems in the world. There are a lot of angry people, all because they are not being understood and they find it hard to understand," she said.
The lovely Kendi Smith, 20, wants to become a lawyer. "I am motivated by a frown that turns into a smile. I am motivated by the unity and strength of my family. I am motivated by my country's high achievers, like Tonique Williams Darling, and the Olympic teams," she said.
Shanell Newton, 19, wants to become a financial advisor. Her daily philosophy is "to live life according to your own beliefs and have no regrets based solely on other people's opinions. Have confidence in the gifts God has blessed you with." Rotunda Poitier, 20, stands at 5'9 and weighs 124 pounds. " I am motivated by my sisters and my church family, but mostly people who think I'll never be anything," she said.
Tricia Hilton, 21 is rightfully obsessed with the waters of Exuma "They are breathtaking!! I feel that is something that will not change unless God decides He should give The Bahamas a face lift," she said.
The green-eyed Alexandra Deal, 18 aims to become an ambassador for The Bahamas.
" I would like to meet Oprah Winfrey. This is a woman who came from very humble beginnings; she was abused as a child yet she spends each day of her life helping others," she said.
Melan Georges, 20 stands at 5'10 and weighs 107 pounds. She wished that she had met Martin Luther King Jr. "Because of him persons of color can maximize their potential. Because of his vision, humanity was reshaped."
Lovely McChanier Johnson, 19, stands at 5'8 and weighs 141 pounds. " I would like to meet a great person who has experienced the ups and downs of life and who would like to share the experience with me and other persons," she said.
Tia Butler is a lovely 19-year-old with her heart set on philanthropic services throughout The Bahama islands.
" I understand the responsibility of the title and I have the maturity, the ambition, the confidence and the determination to be Miss Bahamas World. The schedule, the work, and the hours are all demanding but it would be an honor and I am prepared for it," she said.
Kayla Johnson, 21 wants to work with persons (especially children) living with the HIV/AIDS virus, " to show them that they are loved," she said.
Deandrea Conliffe 23 stands at 5'10 and weighs 138 pounds. Her favourite things about The Bahamas are "how the combination of both the African and British heritage brought us our way of living; the guava duff and conch fritters which are two of our many famous dishes; and our National Anthem which speaks for itself."
