The horrific incident unfolded on the corner of Robinson Road and Third Street in Coconut Grove, according to authorities. It caused traffic snarls on neighboring thoroughfares as police cordoned off the crime scene.
According to authorities, witnesses reported that two men were arguing and one reportedly hit the other with a piece of lumber.
The victim was left lying on the streets until officials arrived on the scene to investigate. It happened around 3:45p.m.
The incident was the 27th. Homicide so far this year and had police officials making another plea for cooler heads to prevail in potentially explosive situations.
Police were still trying to piece together details that could lead them to the alleged perpetrator.
