Cento, President of the FedEx Express Latin America and Caribbean Division, was recently presented with the Air Cargo Americas 2003 International Achievement Award for Executive Leadership. The award was presented during a ceremony held on October 30, 2003 as part of the 7th Bi-annual Air Cargo Americas Congress & Exhibition in Miami, Florida.
The Air Cargo Americas International Achievement Awards initiative was established in 1993 to recognize individuals and organizations in the private and public sectors that have promoted the advancement of the air cargo industry in the Western Hemisphere. The awards are determined by a panel of recognized leaders in the air cargo industry that selects the individuals and/or corporations for their contribution to the industry. Awards are also given for Corporate Leadership, East-West Trade, and Lifetime Achievement.
With more than 27 years of experience in the air cargo and express transportation industry, Cento is the successful leader of the FedEx Express Latin America & Caribbean Division, maintaining overall responsibility for more than 3,000 employees and operations in more than 50 countries. He has been honored with the most prestigious award within the FedEx Corporation, the Five Star Award, for his numerous accomplishments with the Division.
Cento has dedicated many years to community service and has incorporated this sense of social responsibility into his work to lead by example. He also supports business organizations that are important to the growth of Latin America and to free trade across the Americas, including the Florida FTAA, Inc., the Beacon Council, the World Trade Center Miami, the American Chamber of Commerce for the Americas, the South Florida Business Network, and CLADEC (Latin American Association of Express Companies).
