The call comes amid a sea of controversy surrounding the result of the New Year’s Day parade and fears that the much anticipated announcement by the National Junkanoo Committee (NJC) could spark a violent protest at the awards ceremony.
The Valley Boys’ New Year’s victory was overturned by the NJC after it was determined that the Saxons had been over-penalised. The NJC was scheduled to declare an ifficia winner on Friday but up to press time yesterday the real victor of the parade was still unclear.
