Officials of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas will explore the possibility of operating flights between their country and Stewart Airport at Newburgh.
A representative of the government, which operates Bahamas Air, met with Stewart President Charles Seliga late last week.
He said while it could happen, discussions are very preliminary. モTheyᄡre expanding an airport in the Bahamas and the government has just voted to increase the Bahamian aircraft fleet, so theyᄡre looking for a place to come,メ he said. モThereᄡs no target date but they like what they see here.メ
What could be enticing about Stewart is that airline operating fees are considerably lower than those at larger metropolitan airports.
