Man, 19, Charged With Mall Murder

A 19-year-old resident of Pinewood Gardens was charged with murder before Magistrate Linda Virgill on Wednesday in connection with the death of Brandon Pierre.

Pierre, who was also 19, was stabbed while leaving Galleria Cinemas at the Mall at Marathon on Saturday evening.

The accused, Kingsley Adderley, was not required to enter a plea and was remanded to Her Majestyᄡs Prison until March 22 for a preliminary inquiry.

Adderleyᄡs attorney, Eliezer Regnier, requested that his client see a doctor, claiming that he was beaten and therefore was unable to be arraigned on Tuesday due to visible swellings.

Magistrate Virgill granted the request and told the accused that while remanded he will receive medical attention at the prison.

Police reported that several males accosted Pierre while he was leaving the mall. One of them allegedly robbed him of a chain and stabbed him.

After the victim was stabbed, he fled seeking help and collapsed in Dominoᄡs Pizza at the mall where he died, police said

This latest incident has raised some security concerns with merchants in the mall due to reported increased gang activity.
