Bahamian Contractors Benefit From Atlantis Phase III Contracts

Bahamian contractors have been awarded $13 million and $2.475 million worth of work on Kerzner International’s Marina Village and Phase III developments respectively, with the Atlantis resort owner’s development arm announcing plans to join the Bahamian Contractors Association (BCA).

Rick Bodge, Kerzner International Development’s senior vice-president, said Bahamians accounted for 85 per cent of the 930 tradesmen working on the Marina Village and Phase III projects, including workers in administrative positions.

Apart from those two sections, the $38 million contract for the Harborside Village timeshare project had been awarded to the joint venture of Osprey Developers and Woslee Dominion Construction Company.
