Musha Cay In Media Spotlight

MUSHA CAY, EXUMA, BAHAMAS: Travel writers from around the world are getting an opportunity to spend this weekend on Musha Cay, commonly referred to as the most luxurious private island resort in the world.

The tiny island in the northern Exuma chain is 85 miles southeast of Nassau and 15 minutes by plane from Georgetown.

Eleven journalists from the world’s leading travel magazines were invited on a four-day trip to the island, to further promote it in their respective hometowns.

It would cost a group of up to eight persons $24,750.00 a day to rent the island.

However, for parties of nine to 16 individuals, the rental fee is $24,750 plus $1,250 per person per day for each person over eight. For parties of 17 to 24 individuals, the fee is $24,750 plus $1,150 per person per day for each person over eight.

Rates are all-inclusive and include meals, wines, liquors and unlimited usage of all island amenities. A group vacation could easily cost around $200,000 as guests often book the island for a week or longer. Additionally, a $25,000 security deposit (refundable within 30 days after the departure date) is required.

With this extremely high price tag, one would expect everything on the island to be perfect – and quite frankly – everything is. Musha Cay offers elegant accommodations nestled in more than 150 acres of unspoiled forest, surrounded by white, sandy beaches. Its service, provided by a staff of 30-plus, is simply impeccable.

Accommodations vary as guests may choose to stay in their own private 10,000-square-foot Manor House (plantation residence) on the crest of a hill, or in a thatched-roof Beach House far away from any contact with another human being.

Guests may also select one of two colourful Guest Villas with two bedrooms, private outdoor Jacuzzis and beaches, or a five-bedroom Beachside Villa. All of these options are supported by modern room amenities, including air conditioning throughout, satellite television and Internet access. There is always something to do as well, as guest have a variety of land and sea activities to choose from.

Celebrity getaway

Many celebrities who have stayed at the property have said on their guest comment cards that Musha Cay is a perfect getaway. Celebrities such as Steve Martin, Billy Crystal, Oprah Winfrey, Bill Gates and Amy Sacco reportedly gave the vacation resort over-the-top reviews.

Musha Cay is bound to get rave reviews again from the journalists here this weekend who write for Trump World Magazine, Meetings Magazine, Elan, D Magazine, Executive Flyer, Sunday Times, Bentley Magazine, Sunseeker Magazine, Elle Deco Quien Magazine, Panorama Travel Magazine in Italy and Sanctuare. Two journalists from The Nassau Guardian are also a part of the media contingent.
