Two passengers and their pilot escaped serious injury and possible death on the Whit Monday holiday when their small plane creashed in the bushes in Exuma.
The pilot identified as 38-year-old Raymond Meadows, and his two passengers, all residents of Grand Bahama, walked away from the accident unscathed. The crash occurred sometime after 12 noon in the bushes of Rokers Point, Exuma.
Officer-in-charge of the Exuma District, Supt. Willard Cunningham, told the Guardian that police received a call from Air Traffic Control around 12:25pm alerting them of the incident. Supt. Cunningham reported that the 10-seater twin engine islander charter aircraft operated Flamingo Airways, was experiencing problems with its right engine when it fell from the sky.
