Police are investigating an “incident” yesterday morning at the residence of the US ambassador John Rood which claimed the life of a gardener.
The employee of a gardening contractor was apparently working in the grounds of the residence on Sanford Drive at the time.
The Embassy released a statement extending “deepest sorrow and heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased on the occasion of this tragic event”.
Initial reports suggested that the man had been electrocuted while pruning a tree. However, this could not be confirmed by The Tribune at the time of going to press.
