Baha Mar Negotiates With Hilton For Casino Partnership

Executives of Baha Mar are reportedly trying to seal a deal with the American-based Hilton Hotels group to brand the Crystal Palace Casino.

Under its heads of agreement with the Government of The Bahamas, Baha Mar is obligated to complete a deal for the branding of the casino by the end of the year, but company officials have said that they were trying to sign a contract by the end of September.

Meanwhile, Baha Mar officials have said that the Crystal Palace Casino is setting new milestones as it undergoes a $6.75 million renovation.

In addition to a “vibrant” new look that uses Caribbean-inspired hues and design elements, players will benefit from a variety of the newest slot and table games, a new poker room and next-generation player-tracking technology, the company’s release said.

Casino renovations are expected to be completed by early November 2005. Already one of the largest casinos in the Caribbean, the Crystal Palace will add hundreds of new slot machines and table games, the release added.

“The company is also dramatically improving machine technologies that will add a new layer of sophistication in player tracking. Once our renovations are complete, the Crystal Palace will be the most technologically-advanced casino in the Caribbean,” said J. Duff Taylor, V.P. of Casino Operations.

“From cashless machines, to computerized player tracking, to the most popular games from IGT, Williams, and Bally’s, the Crystal Palace will be on par with top casinos anywhere in the world.”

Once complete, the newly renovated casino will feature more than 50 table games, including Blackjack, and newer table games such as Caribbean Stud, Let-It-Ride, and 3-Card Poker; as well as Roulette, Baccarat and Craps.

In addition, more than 450 of the most sophisticated multi-denominational machines with ticket-in/ticket-out capability will be installed throughout the casino, including Wheel of Fortune, Monte Carlo, Pele’s Legend, and Penny Train.

In addition, the casino recently launched live poker play on September 1, enabling players to participate in the most popular poker games available including Texas Hold’em and Seven-Card Stud.

The Crystal Palace is beginning its poker operations with five tables offering a variety of betting limits.

Renovations to the Crystal Palace Casino will also include more vibrant casino signage; an enhanced Player Loyalty program offering bankable points and free slot play; a rich entertainment calendar, including originally produced, Caribbean-inspired shows; and new eateries and dining options, the statement said.

It added, the casino already boasts a state-of-the-art Race and Sports Book, providing a total gaming and entertainment showcase.
