Pilot House Firebombed Twice

The Pilot House was firebombed twice on Sunday following the murder of a convicted drug dealer’s son at a strip club an its premises, police have confirmed.

The Nassau Guardian reported that Lynden Bethel, Jr., 20, of Balls Alley, was fatally stabbed when he got into  a fight at Club Illusions around 4:30am Sunday. The victim’s father is Lynden Bethel Sr., whose street name is “Dodo.” Prosecutors are trying to convince a court to seize Bethel Sr’s assets on the grounds that they were obtained with drug money.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Glenn Miller said police were called to the premises at 11:25am Sunday following the first fire attack. They extinguished the blaze, but firefighters returned to the scene around 7:25pm after a second firebombing. Firefighters also put that blaze out.

ACP Miller said police are still investigating the arson attacks and have no suspects in custody. The Nassau Guardian understands that property owners hired security guards to watch the property in a bid to prevent further attacks.

Another violent incident, which police suspect could be connected to Bethel’s death, also took place near the club on Sunday. Police received reports of a shootout at the club shortly after the murder. Police searched a nearby apartment and allegedly found an illegal gun and ammunition.

ACP Miller said police are questioning a person “associated with the club” about the gun and bullets. Meanwhile, homicide investigators have questioned five people regarding Bethel’s death.
