POLICE are expecting the results of the autopsy today conducted on Devon Arthur Knowles Jr, the nine-year-old boy ᅠfound murdered on Saturday afternoon behind St George’s Park.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Reginald Ferguson said he is optimistic on resolving the case, but is also “not ruling anything out at this time.”
Devon Arthur Knowles Jr, better known as “DJ”, was last seen on Wednesday, June 23, when he went to play basketball at St George’s Park. When he did not return home his concerned family ᅠand neighbours formed a search party.
By Saturday, more volunteers and family members joined it the search in an effort to trace the youngster.
Tragically, on Saturday around 1pm, the search party stumbled through the bush areas behind St George’s park, and found his partially-clothed body.
“At the time of discovery, (Devon) was lying face down, with a pair of blue jeans lying beside him, a black slipper and a white singlet on,” Police Chief Supt Hulan Hanna said after the discovery.
Devon’s grandmother, Pastor Monica Paul, who raised Devon at her Rosedale Avenue home, said she is now praying that the perpetrator is brought to justice.
The family and supporting pastors will hold a news conference about DJᄡs ᅠmurder at 10am today.
